It has been an endless, exciting and entirely enjoyable journey for the young actor in Randeep Hooda, the chubby little boy from Rohtak in Haryana was made fun of by his friends but was confident that he would emerge as a winner one day and build his own little world where he would reign according to rules set by him. He soon realized that he had set out on a journey to find the actor in him who he was sure was there within him, waiting to be reached and discovered.
He traveled within himself and discovered that there was a rich treasure that makes a good actor lying within him. He kept traveling and realized that it was going to be a journey the would never end. He decided to take on the travails of the travel and try his best to reach all the most difficult places he could during the journey.
Randeep left Rohtak and traveled to Australia to study in Human Resource Management. He completed his course but all through his stay it was the journey as an actor that kept exciting him. It was his quest to find the actor that made him land in Mumbai with just Rs. 1500.00 in his wallet. He was clear about his journey, he was confident and he was willing to face any hardships and hurdles that came in his way. He was lucky. He found a place in Naseeruddin Shah's theatre group where he learned to take his first steady step. He had found the right guru in Naseeruddin Shah to find out new ways to enrich his journey.
He did some major plays with Naseer and his group. He was noticed by a man who was a part of Ram Gopal Varma's 'Factory'. He took him to meet Ram Gopal Varma who took an instant fascination for him and that was the beginning of a new chapter in the travels of Randeep Hooda as an actor. He soon found some challenging roles in 'The Factory's' films like 'D' and Darna Zaroori Hai. he was recognized as an actor with a big difference, an actor who was strong within. He also did two film in English Monsoon Wedding and Karma Confessions and Holi which took the actor to new places, to have new excitement and find more about the actor in him.
In the year 2008, he played the leading role in the romantic film Ru-Ba-Ru opposite Shahana Goswami. In 2010, he made a comeback of sorts in the film Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, where he played the ACP of Mumbai crime branch. In the year 2011, he earned rave reviews for his performance in the film Tigmanshu Dhulia's Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster. He also earned praise for his stellar performance in the 2012 film Jannat 2 that is running very successfully at the box office.
After being appreciated for his special appearances in films such as Cocktail and Jism 2, his Murder 3, garnered a lot of praise and was a hit at the box-office.
In 2013, he played a role in Karan Johar's segments in the film, Bombay Talkies, alongside Rani Mukerji and Saqib Saleem.
