Sunny Deol's Jaat opens with a single-digit total —

Sunny Deol is back with another action flick after the huge success of Gadar 2. Deol's latest action drama, Jaat, was released all over India in Thursday, taking advantage of Mahavir Jayanti, and has managed to take a decent opening. However, it isn’t a bumper or big hit and is definitely nowhere near Gadar 2's hysteria.

Jaat opened better in mass pockets than in urban centers, which was expected from the start. It saw an occupancy of around 10% in the morning shows and then the occupancy picked up post-noon shows. The film performed much better in the afternoon and evening shows, but then saw a dip in night shows since mass belts, unlike urban cities, do not see heavy rush at night.

Jaat First Day Collections:

The film went pretty close to a double-digit figure but ended up collecting approximately 9 crore nett on Thursday and will likely witness a drop on Friday since it followed the effect of a partial holiday. Nevertheless, there should be a jump in numbers on Saturday and Sunday, and the film can register a fair total by the end of the extended weekend. Ultimately, it will be Monday that decides the fate of the film, but a good thing is that it is not expected to be a disaster like the previous major release, Sikandar.

Directed by Gopichand Malineni, Jaat stars Sunny Deol in the lead role and Randeep Hooda as the main antagonist. The film also features Vineet Kumar Singh, Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, and Jagapathi Babu. You can check out our review for the film below.
