Agni Sakshi, starring Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, and Nana Patekar, was both a critical and commercial triumph—praised for its powerful depiction of domestic violence—and earned Nana Patekar a National Film Award. His crime drama Ghulam-E-Musthafa, featuring Nana Patekar and Raveena Tandon, is lauded for its emotional intensity and cold action sequences.
Actress Rituparna Sengupta, whom Ghosh introduced to Hindi cinema in 1994, confirmed the news and mourned him as “an exceptional talent, a visionary director, and a kind soul." Ghosh also directed various Hindi and Bengali television series, sustaining a vibrant career into his later years. At the time of his death, he had been developing sequels to 100 Days and Agni Sakshi, but there were no official updates on them later. His legacy endures through cinema that continues to resonate with audiences across generations. He will surely be missed.
