The Life of Chuck Complete WASHOUT in India:

Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Stephen King’s novella, The Life of Chuck, has turned out to be a complete disaster at the Indian box office. Despite the buzz in international cinephile circles and the film’s emotionally rich narrative, it failed to find any traction with the Indian audience.

The film opened to an abysmal ₹6 lakh on Day 1, followed by a marginal jump to ₹12 lakh on Day 2. However, it failed to sustain momentum, collecting only ₹10 lakh on Day 3. The weekend total stood at a shocking ₹28 lakh nett—an outright washout by any standard.

The film suffered from extremely poor marketing and near-zero promotions in India. With no strong media push, the film remained invisible to most potential viewers. The distributor’s decision to give it a very limited release only compounded the problem. Moreover, a weak PR campaign ensured it stayed out of the radar of even urban multiplex audiences who might have otherwise shown interest in the film’s thematic depth.

Given the disastrous opening, The Life of Chuck is unlikely to cross even ₹1 crore nett in its entire theatrical run in India. It is being dubbed as one of the biggest Hollywood flops of the year in the country. Starring Tom Hiddleston, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Jacob Tremblay, and Mark Hamill, the film is currently running in ciinemas.
