Bigg Boss OTT 3 winner Sana Makbul was unexpectedly hospitalised in Mumbai on June 8, 2025, just after celebrating Eid with her family, sparking concern among fans and the television industry. Her close friend, Dr Aashna Kanchwala, confirmed the news via Instagram, posting a photo of the visibly pale and frail actress.

Expressing heartfelt support, Dr. Aashna wrote, "My strongest Diva. I’m so proud of you for showing so much strength and resilience as you battle such a grave condition. While no official medical update has been released, reports suggest that Sana Makbul is struggling with complications stemming from autoimmune hepatitis, a liver condition she was diagnosed with in 2020. On Bharti Singh’s podcast earlier this year, the actress opened up about her illness, stating that her immune system attacks her liver and that she relies on steroids and immunosuppressants to manage fluctuating symptoms. She also revealed adopting a vegan diet due to health concerns.
