Actor Ayesha Khan has made some candid revelations about body shaming and online harassment, sharing her experiences at the We The Women event.

During the conversation, Ayesha recalled an early setback from her teenage years. She revealed that while she was in Class XII, she had been cast as the second lead in a song by T-Series, but was replaced at the last minute. According to the actor, the reason given was that she was considered “fat.”

Ayesha KhanWhen asked about pressure to fit certain beauty standards, Ayesha admitted it took her time to become comfortable in her own skin. She also spoke at length about the constant scrutiny she faces online.

“I am almost every day sexualised for my body on Instagram,” she said. “I wear a normal top; people have a problem, I wear skirts, people have a problem. I have to think before posting. If I have to think before wearing something or wanting to post something, just because someone else is going to sexualise me, it's, of course, a very sad space to be in.”

The Jaat actor highlighted the emotional toll of abusive comments and threats. She shared that she receives rape threats frequently and finds it deeply disturbing that such remarks come from real individuals. “It’s very scary that these are actual human beings around us. These are not just comments,” she said, adding that some days the messages trigger past wounds and fears.
