The RajaSaab Review Movie Talkies:

Superstar Prabhas teams up with director Maruthi for The RajaSaab, a horror-comedy that is grand in scale and generous in heart. Ambitious by design, the film places its spectacle front and centre, supported by lavish visuals, heavy visual effects, and a star-studded cast led by Prabhas. While horror-comedy is a relatively new genre for the actor, the film smartly balances experimentation with familiar mass elements, ensuring his fans are treated to multiple seeti-maar moments that draw loud cheers in theatres.

The RajaSaab Story:

At its core, The RajaSaab tells the emotional story of Gangamma (Zarina Wahab), who lives a peaceful life with her affectionate grandson, Raja Saab (Prabhas). Though Gangamma suffers from Alzheimer’s and forgets most things, one name remains etched in her memory—her long-lost husband, Kanakaraju (Sanjay Dutt). Raja’s life takes a decisive turn when he discovers that Kanakaraju is alive and residing in Hyderabad. Determined to reunite his grandparents and bring joy back into his grandmother’s fading world, Raja sets off on a journey that soon becomes far more complicated than he anticipates.

The RajaSaab

Once in Hyderabad, Raja faces unexpected challenges and crosses paths with Bhairavi (Malavika Mohanan), a woman shrouded in mystery. As their paths intertwine, questions begin to surface. What is the true nature of Raja and Bhairavi’s relationship? What secrets bind Bhairavi and her grandfather (Samuthirakani)? Why did Kanakaraju abandon Gangamma all those years ago? And how did Ganga Devi, once a princess, end up living as the impoverished Gangamma? These questions form the emotional and supernatural backbone of the narrative, unfolding through drama, horror, and revelation.

The Rajasaab

Clocking in at nearly three hours, The RajaSaab is probably the longest horror-comedy made in India. While the first half takes its time to establish the world and characters, the film truly picks up momentum in the second half. The extended climax, filled with high drama and spectacle, leaves the audience satisfied. The grandeur of the sets, the scale of the visual effects, and the elaborate horror elements are among the biggest ever attempted in Telugu cinema, and perhaps even Hindi cinema.

The RajaSaab Cast:

Prabhas delivers yet another heroic role tailor-made for his fanbase. His comic timing, signature smile, and especially the much-talked-about joker-face scene, kiss, and stylish swagger sent audiences into a frenzy. The film is also high on glamour, thanks to its leading ladies—Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar—though one wishes they were given more screen time. Zarina Wahab lends emotional depth to her role, while Sanjay Dutt’s menacing look and costumes add a sense of danger. The rest of the supporting cast does a decent job.

The RajaSaab Movie Review:

Lavish and unapologetically larger-than-life, The RajaSaab may have a few narrative gaps, but this genre doesn’t demand rigid logic. Supernatural stories thrive on mystique, and the film’s eerie world is undeniably engaging. Maruthi successfully delivers a big-budget entertainer that does justice to Prabhas’s superstardom, offers mass elevations, and blends horror with drama and spectacle. Ultimately, The RajaSaab works because of its scale, entertainment value, and crowd-pleasing moments—and that’s exactly what it sets out to be.
