Tere Ishk Mein Story:

The story follows Shankar (Dhanush), the college bad boy whose life takes an unexpected turn when he meets the spirited Mukti (Kriti Sanon). Their bond begins as part of a playful, somewhat mischievous deal, but for Shankar, it quickly escalates into a mad, all-consuming love. Mukti, however, isn’t as sure. She has her own ambitions and a different future imagined for herself. Yet, slowly and inevitably, she begins to see a side of Shankar that she didn’t expect — a man fiercely loyal and vulnerably in love.

Their blooming romance soon crashes into a wall of harsh reality when Mukti’s father, a high-ranking IAS officer, vehemently disapproves of their relationship. What follows is a dramatic shift — Shankar loses his father and the rage inside him resurfaces, turning him into a violent force once again. Mukti is left torn: does love justify chaos, or will the flames of passion consume everything they’ve built? The film then becomes a tug-of-war between love and destruction, destiny and defiance.

Running a little over two and a half hours, the narrative maintains a good grip throughout. The first half carefully constructs the romance with warmth and charm, while the second half packs a punch with escalating drama, unexpected twists and heightened emotions. Writers Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav craft a passionate yet turbulent love story that feels tailor-made for today’s Gen-Z audience — especially after the resurgence of youth romances like Saiyaara and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat and the popularity of heartbreak anthems ruling the charts. If tragic love stories are your comfort genre, Tere Ishk Mein is a feast waiting to be devoured.

Tere Ishk Mein Cast:

Dhanush delivers a decent-good performance and once again proves why he shines the brightest in emotionally charged roles. Though his Hindi diction occasionally falters, his intensity, physical transformation, and command over dramatic moments more than make up for it. Kriti Sanon looks gorgeous and performs earnestly — particularly in her emotional breakdown scenes, even though the accent looks problematic. Her chemistry with Dhanush builds beautifully over time and becomes the backbone of the film. Prakash Raj brings gravitas as always, and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub’s cameo adds a pleasant surprise.

Tere Ishk Mein Movie Review:

Music remains one of the strongest highlights. Awaara stands out as a haunting melody that elevates the emotional tension dramatically. The cinematography is vibrant, offering striking visual contrast — from lively college corridors to fiery chaos and finally the disciplined atmosphere of the Air Force backdrop.
