Reflecting on the early days of his career, Gill revealed a widespread misconception that he was responsible for casting in Mahesh Bhatt’s films. Due to this perception, many believed he held the power to decide an actor’s fate — a belief he firmly clarified was never ever true.

Gill recalled a humorous  moment when Ashish Vidyarthi, then a newcomer in the industry, approached him seeking work. Vidyarthi told him how he was once informed by Mahesh Bhatt that if Avtar Gill recommended him, he would immediately be cast. Vidyarthi amusingly yet emotionally admitted that it angered him at that time — the idea that his future depended on Gill’s approval and decisions.

The bond with Bhattsaab, Gill said, is far beyond the boundaries of the film world. With deep admiration and love, Gill admitted on the show, “If Bhattsaab asks me to jump off a building, I won’t even ask why.” According to Gill, this connection grew from cinema but later evolved into a lifelong brotherhood built on respect, trust, and affection.
