Little Hearts Review Movie Talkies:

After Single (2025), Telugu cinema presents another good romantic comedy this year in the form of Little Hearts. This film is more engaging because it focuses on one couple and their struggle. Most other popular romantic comedies revolve around love triangles or betrayals, but here, we have a simple and relatable story centered on age-gap dynamics. The term “age-gap” often conjures images of men or women being significantly older—10 years or more—but for teenagers, even a 2-year difference feels substantial. Little Hearts cleverly uses a 3-year gap, turning the girl into an “auntie” in the eyes of the young boy, which is completely natural from an 18-year-old’s perspective. This makes it extremely relatable for teenagers and young audiences, and it is handled with an effortless charm.

Little Hearts Story:

The story revolves around Akhil (Mouli Tanuj Prasanth), a boy struggling academically. When asked about his career as a child, he humorously replies that he wants to be Hrithik Roshan from Dhoom 2. Akhil faces heartbreak after being unable to secure a college seat alongside his girlfriend, and she refuses to continue a long-distance relationship. Distraught, Akhil decides he wants to marry someone who will love him as he is, without any demands or expectations. He notices Khatyayani (Shivani Nagaram), finds her attractive, and they begin talking and hanging out. He eventually proposes, only to be rejected because she is 21 and he is 18. In a comical twist, he calls her “auntie,” causing her to walk away. Realizing his mistake, he apologizes and seeks to build a connection with her. She gives him a chance, with the condition that if their situationship works out, she will marry him. The question then becomes: will Akhil be able to win her heart?

The story itself is not groundbreaking, but its charm lies in the way it addresses a relatable issue faced by today’s youth. Akhil’s journey includes googling age gaps and reading about celebrity couples, which changes his perspective. The film humorously frames his love story as “pre-Jio” and “post-Jio” eras, peppered with pop culture references, especially from the legendary Baahubali. Just like Baahubali, which was initially dismissed as a flop before becoming a massive hit, Akhil’s love story also follows a similar trajectory. The repeated use of the word “auntie” provides consistent laughs. One of the best lines is: “Girls go after rich and handsome boys, but aunties, they want love.” Akhil’s friends and his younger brother contribute nutty, hilarious moments that generate organic laughter. Situational jokes and expressive tantrums work beautifully, keeping the audience thoroughly entertained.

Little Hearts Cast:

Mouli Tanuj Prasanth delivers a fine performance as an average-looking, love-struck boy, struggling with studies and emotions. Shivani Nagaram looks stunning, even with simple makeup, complementing the character’s personality. Rajeev Kanakala delivers an energetic performance, while S. S. Kanchi impresses with expressive comic timing. Jai Krishna, Nikhil Abburi, Padmini Settam, Anitha Chowdary, and others provide decent support, adding depth and humor to the narrative.

The music is decent, with solid lyrics, and thankfully, all the songs are situational, so the story doesn’t feel dragged. Sreedhar Sompally’s editing keeps the pace smooth, and the cinematography is competent. Sound design is average, but production design and locations are apt, contributing to a natural feel. The dialogues are crisp, humorous, and particularly enjoyable for audiences familiar with Telugu and Hindi films. Sai Marthand’s script may not be extraordinary, but it is heartwarming and ensures that viewers never feel bored. It’s about relishing the ordinary, presented with a natural, effortless flow, which makes the film extremely likeable.

Little Hearts Movie Review:

In essence, Little Hearts succeeds because it is relatable, funny, and engaging without being over-the-top. Its strength lies in its simplicity, organic humor, and authentic portrayal of youthful romance. As the film’s final dialogue cheekily states: “I dare you give a negative review to this film.” Indeed, after watching it, giving a negative review feels impossible.
