2025 has been a good year for Bollywood, with actors delivering performances that linger long after the credits roll. From intense historical dramas to heartfelt romantic journeys, the year offered a showcase of talent, versatility, and sheer screen presence. Here’s a look at the top five male actor performances that defined the year.

5. R. Madhavan in Kesari Chapter 2:

R. Madhavan brought a commanding presence to the historical courtroom drama based on a true story, blending antagonism with staggering speeches. He was the villain in the film but still left a strong mark with his performance. That dialogue on "Titanic" was epic.

4. Ahaan Panday in Saiyaara:

This was quite a surprising entry for me. Ahaan Panday made a striking impression with his lead performance, infusing charm, vulnerability, and authenticity into the character. This breakout role marked him as one of the most promising talents of the year. When I saw some of a social media videos, I never thought that this man can play such an intense character and he proved me wrong with his screen presence in Saiyaara.

Akshaye Khanna’s intense and layered performance in this spy thriller reminded audiences of his versatility. He balanced subtle nuance with high-stakes action, delivering one of the year’s most memorable performances. The FA9LA trend and "Rehman Dakait Ki Di Hui Maut" dialogue are all over the internet.

2. Akshay Kumar in Kesari Chapter 2

Akshay Kumar returned to the courtroom with unmatched energy and gravitas. His portrayal combined patriotism, courage, and emotional depth, making him a standout in a film loaded with spectacle. That last speech on Jalianwala Bagh and the outburst he showed in "Get the Fukk out of my Country," scene made it one of his best performance yet.

1. Vicky Kaushal in Chhaava:

Easily, the best performance of the year by any Bollywood actor. After Sardar Udham and Sam Bahadur, Vicky Kaushal returned to biographical genre and impressed once again with his portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. His commanding screen presence and nuanced emotional performance made Chhaava a cinematic highlight of the year. The last 40 minutes of the film took his performance to next level. I believe, he deserves all the awards for this role, but I can't have much expectations from the juries and awards shows after they ignored him in Masaan, Sardar Udham and Sam Bahadur.
