War 2 Lags at 5th Spot In Spy Universe's Top Sunday Collections:

YRF’s Spy Universe has given Bollywood some of its biggest blockbusters in the last decade, but the latest entry War 2 seems to be struggling to keep up with its predecessors. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR and Kiara Advani, the film has managed a Sunday collection of ₹25.5 crore nett, placing it only at the fifth spot among the top Sunday earners of the Spy Universe.

The list continues to be led by Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (2023), which created a storm at the box office with a record-breaking ₹57 crore nett Sunday. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) holds the second position with ₹45 crore nett, while Tiger 3 (2023) starring the same duo sits at third with ₹40.8 crore nett. Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s action-packed War (2019) still ranks higher than its sequel with ₹35.5 crore. The first film of the franchise, Ek Tha Tiger (2012), starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, collected ₹22 crore nett, slightly below War 2 in numbers but ahead in terms of footfalls.

When we compare footfalls, Tiger Zinda Hai comes out on top, followed by Pathaan, Ek Tha Tiger and the original War. Tiger 3 and War 2 bring up the rear, with War 2 suffering from the lowest turnout despite its big star cast and high expectations.

While War 2 had the advantage of Hrithik Roshan reprising his role and the addition of Telugu star Jr. NTR, the film has not managed to generate the same craze among audiences. The Spy Universe still remains strong overall, but War 2 clearly has more work to do and with the current trend, it looks difficult.
