There is an exciting update on the cast of Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana. Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has joined the cast of Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated mythological epic, Ramayana Part One. He will portray the character of Vidyutjihva, the husband of Shurpanakha. This marks Oberoi's return to large-scale cinema, aligning with a star-studded ensemble that includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Raavan.

Shurpanakha, a pivotal figure in the Ramayana, is set to be portrayed by Rakul Preet Singh. Her character's encounter with Lord Ram and Lakshman sets off a chain of events leading to Sita's abduction and the ensuing war. Singh has reportedly completed look tests and is enthusiastic about embracing this significant role in her first project post-marriage.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, known for Dangal, the film is envisioned as a two-part series. With a reported budget of over 800 crore, it stands as one of India's most ambitious cinematic endeavors. The filming for part one is about to be wrapped, and the film is aiming for a Diwali 2026 release.

The film also stars Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Mohit Raina as Lord Mahadev, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Arun Govil as Dasharath, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Ravi Dubey as Laxman, and Adinath Kothare as Bharat. Many new actors will be joining Ramayana: Part Two, which is slated for a Diwali 2027 release.
