Varun Dhawan In Trouble Over Hanging In Mumbai Metro:
Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has found himself in an unusual controversy after a video of him hanging inside a Mumbai Metro coach went viral on social media. The clip, shared by the actor on his Instagram stories while travelling to a cinema hall, shows him gripping the overhead metal grab handles and performing pull‑up‑like moves as other passengers look on.
The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) quickly responded by reposting the video on its official social media account (X), along with a pointed safety advisory. In its message, the authority said the video “should have come with a disclaimer” like in movie action scenes, and bluntly advised: “Do Not Try This On Maha Mumbai Metro.”
MMMOCL reminded commuters that metro grab handles are meant for balance and safety, not for hanging or stunts. Officials warned that such behaviour could be dangerous for both the individual and fellow passengers, especially in a crowded train. They also cited legal provisions under The Metro Railways (Operations and Maintenance) Act, 2002, noting that actions causing nuisance or damage to metro property can attract penalties and even imprisonment depending on the seriousness of the offence.
The warning drew mixed reactions online, with some praising the metro authorities for reinforcing safety rules and others debating whether celebrities should be held to the same enforcement standards. So far, Varun Dhawan has not publicly responded to the warning. Previously also, Varun found himself in a similar trouble when he gave a selfie to a fan at the traffic signal while travelling in car. Meanwhile, his recent film Border 2, starring Sunny Deol, Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh, continues to perform well at the box office.
