Tu Yaa Main
Tu Yaa Main Low Start At The Box Office:
The horror survival thriller Tu Yaa Main, starring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor, has opened to a slow start at the box office. On its first day, the film collected approximately ₹55 lakh nett in India, falling short of the ₹1 crore mark by a big margin. For a theatrical release, even a limited one, this is considered a modest and slightly concerning beginning.

The film was released in select screens, which has naturally restricted its earning potential. However, trade experts believe that the opening numbers should have been stronger to create early momentum. The genre of horror survival thrillers usually depends heavily on strong initial buzz and positive audience reactions, but the pre-release excitement around Tu Yaa Main remained limited.
Early reports suggest that word of mouth is mixed. While some viewers have appreciated the concept and performances, others have pointed out flaws in execution. Since neither Adarsh Gourav nor Shanaya Kapoor commands massive box office pull on their own, the film’s growth now depends largely on audience response over the weekend.

The coming days will be crucial. A noticeable jump in collections on Saturday and Sunday could help the film stay afloat. Ideally, the film would need to go past the ₹5 crore nett mark in its first weekend to show some stability. Without strong growth, sustaining in cinemas may become difficult. For now, Tu Yaa Main has had a low opening, and all eyes are on how it performs over the weekend.

In our review, we wrote:
"We have already watched Anaconda, Lake Placid, and Deep Blue Sea countless times on television three decades ago. Watching a similar setup on the big screen in 2026 feels too late and too familiar. The opening scene is directly lifted from those ’80s and ’90s creature-horror survival flicks, immediately giving you the indication that you are in for something dated. However, to be fair, Tu Yaa Main does attempt to grow beyond those clichés and builds an interesting premise of its own. There is potential here. I genuinely wish the film had better actors and stronger visual effects, because the viewing experience could have been far more engaging."
