Hollywood star Tom Cruise has reportedly left his £35 million luxury apartment in the Knightsbridge area of London following a violent daytime robbery near his home.

The 63-year-old actor lived in a penthouse overlooking Hyde Park in One Hyde Park, one of the city’s most expensive and prestigious residential buildings. But recent crime in the area appears to have prompted the Mission Impossible star to pack up and move out.

The incident that changed things happened on January 20, when a gang of masked thieves on motorbikes attacked the Bucherer Rolex store on the ground floor of the same building. The robbers used machetes, hammers and specialist tools to smash display cases and escape with about 20 high-value watches in broad daylight. The raid lasted less than three minutes and shocked many residents.

Sources say Cruise was once a familiar figure in the area, often seen jogging in Hyde Park or walking nearby. But the violent robbery and other recent criminal incidents in Knightsbridge and nearby streets reportedly convinced him that the neighbourhood had become less safe.

Workers were seen removing boxes from Cruise’s apartment as he prepared to leave, leaving some building staff surprised at how quickly his departure happened. The actor has not publicly commented on his reasons for leaving. Reports suggest he has returned to the United States while considering other places to live.
