In a recent interview with Hauterfly, Surveen revealed her belief in introducing basic concepts about the human body and natural processes from an early age. She shared that she has begun teaching her daughter about menstruation and the anatomy of her body using age-appropriate language. For Surveen, it’s not just about breaking taboos but also about creating a space where her daughter feels empowered, informed, and unashamed of her body.

“I don’t want her to grow up feeling that anything about her body is something to be hidden or whispered about,” she said. “We talk openly about periods, what they are, and why they happen. I use simple words and keep the conversation natural," she stated.

By choosing to teach her daughter about periods at such a young age, Surveen Chawla is setting an example for other parents and encouraging more open, stigma-free conversations. Recalling how it started, she said that her 3-year-old daughter once opened a drawer and found a sanitary pad in it. She asked questions about it, and then the actress had to explain it. Chawla also revealed that her daughter knows the word "vagina," since "that's all she's called it."
