Ranbir Kapoor is poised to take over the Dhoom franchise with Dhoom 4. According to the latest report, the story and screenplay for the largest film in the franchise are currently under development and will soon be ready. Aditya Chopra and Shridhar Raghavan are collaborating on this project, states a report from Pinkvilla.

"Aditya Chopra has been closely involved in crafting the story and screenplay of Dhoom 4 with Shridhar Raghavan. They are currently working on a story draft that’s worthy of the excitement surrounding the reboot with Dhoom 4," a source told the portal regarding this development.

Raghavan has previously worked on Yash Raj Films' four films within the Spy Universe. He wrote the screenplay for War (2019), Pathaan (2023), Tiger 3 (2023), and War 2 (2025). He has won the National Film Award for Best Screenplay for the film Apaharan, featuring Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar, and Bipasha Basu.

The source also mentioned about Ranbir and his character, stating, "Ranbir is the perfect choice for Dhoom 4, and the character is designed with his aura and personality in mind. The new Dhoom film is being crafted to meet global action standards, with the visual palette, as well as storytelling, being very different from the already established YRF Spy Universe." War 2 fame Ayan Mukerji is the front runner for the director's chair for this mega-budget project.
