Akaal Review Movie Talkies:

Gippy Grewal has devoted nearly nine years of his life to this film, and his efforts are very much visible on the screen. Akaal is grand, dramatic, and a patriotic film to watch, and the scale is top-notch considering the standards of Punjabi cinema. With its larger emotional quotient and pride for Khalsa, Akaal makes for a worthy watch for big-screen cine lovers.

Akaal

Akaal Story:

The film tells the story of Akaal Singh (played by Gippy Grewal) and Jungi (Nikitin Dheer), who are set against each other due to the honor of the negative side and, moreover, Jungi's greed for ruling the land. As both have their tribes settled on opposite sides of the river, Jungi becomes obsessive about winning the land across the river. Akaal is too honest and good to engage in such things, but if anyone sets their eyes on bringing his land and people down, he won't spare them. Who will win in the end?

Akaal

Akaal excels in action sequences that set a new benchmark for the Punjabi cinema industry. It's truly a never-before-seen phenomenon, especially during the climax when the hero takes on the entire army alone, keeping the pride of the phrase Ek Singh against Sawa Lakh true. The opening scene of Akaal Singh also has high cinematic value, and the emotional quotient is handled exceptionally well.

Akaal Cast:

Gippy Grewal, as Akaal Singh, presents a larger-than-life image that will win your hearts. He is kind, brave, and loyal; moreover, he is a great person with no false pride or greed. Gippy delivers an honest performance, exactly what is needed for the stature of Akaal Singh. Nimrat Khaira's sword battle scene with Gippy is beautifully shot, and the cuteness makes it even more appealing. The chemistry between these two elevates the emotional scale of the film considerably. Shinda Grewal plays a brave child, much braver than his age, and will leave you clapping for him. Gurpreet Ghuggi, with one leg (in the film), stands tall, while Mita Vashishth does a fine job in her role. Nikitin Dheer is a show stealer. Be it his physique, attitude, fierce character, or fight sequences, he nails it everywhere. The supporting cast adds notable strength here.

Akaal

Akaal is blessed with beautiful cinematography. Many frames in the film stand out, as the action sequences create a big-screen extravaganza. The music is also decent, with the Akaal title track emerging as the best among them all. The film is slow at moments that should have been avoided, and a few scenes are presented in a daily soap manner.

Akaal Movie Review:

Grewal's writing gives you a rooted story that needs to be celebrated. The pride of Khalsa is the USP here and will fill Sikhs’ chests with pride. The constant mention of Khalsa's fighting spirit and Guru Gobind Singh's valor makes you realize its importance. Gippy Grewal's direction doesn't really lack many things, but one or two aspects aren’t troublesome. So, as a whole, you have a fairly engaging and entertaining big-screen spectacle to enjoy in cinemas with your families. Go for it.
