Sunny Deol annouces Jaat 2:
Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda's Jaat is currently running in cinemas everywhere and has done average business so far. The film has yet to become a hit, and still, the makers have gone ahead and announced the sequel, Jaat 2. This isn't the first time a non-hit movie is getting a sequel, but it definitely raises many eyebrows.
Jaat has yet to make profits for the distributors as the film has a share of over Rs. 25 crore so far. It needs to reach a share of 55-60 crore to generate profit for the makers, which looks difficult at the moment but not impossible. Much depends on how the film performs in the second week when it will face competition from Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2.

Gopichand Malineni's actioner has a budget of over 100 crore, including the remuneration of Sunny Deol, which is reportedly close to Rs. 50-55 crore. The film has collected approx. 55 crore in the first week and is heading toward 80 crore+ lifetime business and may soon emerge as a Hit. However, for now, it is an "Average" grosser, and the makers have announced the sequel even before the film became a HIT. That's odd, but not shocking. Hopefully, it does well in the coming days and justifies the decision of the makers.
