Exclusive: Sriram Raghavan Gives Update on Badlapur 2:
Filmmaker Sriram Raghavan shared an important update on Badlapur 2 while interacting with the media at the trailer preview event of his upcoming film Ikkis. Known for his mastery over thrillers, Raghavan spoke candidly about the challenges he has faced while developing the sequel to the 2015 cult hit Badlapur.
During the conversation, Raghavan revealed that he had begun working on the story of Badlapur 2, but the creative process did not go as planned. He explained that he wrote two different versions of the story, only to feel dissatisfied with both. Unable to connect with the material, he decided not to move forward with them. While discussing the situation with producer Dinesh Vijan, a new idea emerged — which eventually evolved into Ikkis. The two then shifted their focus entirely towards developing the war drama.

When asked whether the writing of Badlapur 2 has been completed, Raghavan clarified that the project is still very much in progress. Speaking to Movie Talkies, he said, "I am still writing. I was focused on Ikkis, now since this film is complete I will get back to Badlapur 2 after the release of this film. I have two ideas in my mind, let's say which one works the best. I can continue the story from Badlapur and make a sequel or I can take the soul and idea ahead with a new concept. I'll soon fix that discuss with the producer."

The director’s statement suggests that Badlapur 2 could either continue directly from the original film’s narrative or take a fresh direction while retaining its thematic essence. With Ikkis set for release soon, fans can expect clearer updates on Badlapur 2 once Raghavan resumes work on the project post-release.
