Sikandar lacks momentum:
Salman Khan's Sikandar is suffering from low advance booking during the pre-Eid period. The film is clearly lacking good momentum in hourly trends on Book My Show (BMS). The last hour's trending for AR Murugadoss' action drama was around 1.49k, which means it is far from even hitting 2k tickets per hour.
Sikandar Runs Slow in Advance Bookings; Falls Behind Salman Khan's Tiger 3 –

With three days to go for the release, Sikandar has sold approximately 53,000 tickets at the national chains of PIC (PVRInox and Cinepolis). It's a below-par number for a Salman Khan starrer. Even his underperforming Tiger 3 was doing better around the same time, which had a similar Sunday release on Diwali Pooja day.

At the moment, Sikandar's advance booking is lagging behind Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, which opened to Rs. 29 crore nett on Valentine's Day. Since Sikandar is a bigger film with a larger budget and a big release day of Gudi Padwa plus Sunday, it might just edge past Chhaava. However, one expects much bigger numbers from a Salman Khan film. Shockingly, it's even behind Akshay Kumar's Sky Force, which wasn't a mass driven film.

As the current trending suggests, the film will not be crossing the final PIC ticket sales of Tiger 3, which collected 40 crore nett on opening day. This Eid release is expected to open at 29-30 crore nett, depending on spot bookings on Sunday, and may have a decent opening. However, the trade expectations of a bumper opening won't be met this time. Tough times ahead for Sikandar and Bollywood, or will we get a blockbuster this Eid? There hasn't been a single blockbuster on Eid since Sultan (2016) for Salman, so can we see that happening? The current buzz says otherwise, but who knows?
As per a report in 123 Telugu, the film needs to cross Rs. 200 crore nett at the domestic box office for break even. This will take the film in safe zone, but not Hit or Super Hit. According to the latest report in Koimoi, the movie has seen a drop in BMS sales on Wednesday due to L2: Empuraan. We will get a clearer picture in coming days as Saturday holds the key.
