Sikandar Runs Slow in Advance Bookings; Falls Behind Salman Khan's Tiger 3 –

Sikandar advance booking:

Salman Khan's upcoming movie Sikandar is set to release on Eid and will enjoy a holiday for the first three days. The makers opted for a Sunday release to take advantage of the holiday boost; otherwise, a Friday release would have yielded poor results due to the Pre-Eid effect. The advance booking opened nationally today, and it seems that the Sunday release is not helping much.

Sikandar has sold over 45,000 tickets in national chains (PVR Inox and Cinepolis) for Day One, which is an underwhelming number. In hourly bookings, it is lagging behind Salman's previous release, Tiger 3, which also premiered on a Sunday and by this time, that film hadn't opened its full-fledged advance booking. Tiger 3 opened with a 40 crore nett, so this A.R. Murugadoss action drama is expected to open lower than that. However, there is a holiday on the second day, which should help the film grow, just like Tiger 3 did on Monday.

Sikandar box office predictions:

Salman's last Eid release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, opened with 13 crore nett in 2023, which was a below-par total. Salman's last blockbuster on Eid came in 2016 with Sultan; it will be interesting to see if his dry spell ends with Sikandar or not. The film hasn't seen any momentum on BMS, but fans are hoping for a good spike on Friday and Saturday. But how much? We will provide the next update tomorrow and then we'll have a better picture of the opening day figures.

Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the film stars Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, Kajal Aggarwal, Anjini Dhawan, and others. It will be released in cinemas on March 30, 2025.
