Shenaz Treasury Opens Up About Body Shaving On Ishq Vishk Sets:
Bollywood actress Shenaz Treasury recently opened up about her early Bollywood journey and the struggles she faced during the making of her debut film Ishq Vishk (2003). The actress, who played the bubbly and charming Alisha opposite Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao, recalled the kind of body-shaming she went through on the sets of the film.
Sharing her experience in a candid chat with Etimes, Shenaz said, “I was told, ‘Oh, you’re too fat, your belly is sticking out, you need to diet.’ The other girl in the movie was so thin — they were padding her, putting pads on her — while they were trying to shrink me. So I was on some crazy diet. They wouldn’t let me eat. It was so ridiculous. And it was so sad. Looking back, I can’t believe we had to go through those things. In fact, the world we live in today is much nicer to actors and more accepting of all shapes and sizes.”
Despite these challenges, Shenaz made a memorable debut with Ishq Vishk, which was also Shahid Kapoor’s first film. The youthful romance became a sleeper success at the box office and is still remembered for its music and relatable college-life story. Amrita Rao’s character Payal also struck a chord with audiences, making the film a milestone for all three newcomers.

In the years after Ishq Vishk, Shenaz worked in Bollywood, television, and even international projects, carving her own identity beyond films. However, in 2021, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with prosopagnosia, also known as face blindness, a condition that makes it difficult to recognize faces. Despite this personal challenge, Shenaz continues her new journey with her travel vlogs, and her openness about both the highs and lows of her journey.
