Shah Rukh Khan & Kajol's DDLJ Bronze Unveiled In London:

The bronze statue — capturing one of the film’s most iconic poses — has become the first Indian film tribute to join the famed “Scenes in the Square movie trail.” Set up outside the famed Odeon Cinema on Leicester Square’s eastern terrace, it holds special significance: a moment from DDLJ was filmed here during the scene where the film’s lovers first cross paths — a moment Bollywood fans worldwide remember fondly.

Unveiled today as part of DDLJ’s 30‑year legacy celebrations, the statue is more than a tribute — it is a bridge between Bollywood and global cinema. Officials from the Heart of London B QAusiness Alliance hailed the statue as a “fitting tribute to the global popularity of Bollywood and a celebration of London’s diversity.” Meanwhile, the production house Yash Raj Films expressed pride that DDLJ has become the first Indian film represented on the trail.

For fans, in India, the UK or elsewhere, the statue is a powerful symbol of the lasting appeal of DDLJ. It is a reminder that some love stories, some films, transcend generations and now, geography too. The film was a huge hit in UK when released in 1995. In India, DDLJ was an All Time Blockbuster and has also become the longest running film in Indian cinema.
