In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the Golmaal 3 actress said she has noticed many young performers trying to appear “cute” on set — something she feels can hurt their craft rather than help it.

Talking about her experience working with Alia, Ratna said Bhatt stood out for her focus and seriousness. She recalled how Alia would attentively watch scenes from the monitor, not just her own performances, but also those of her co-actors, showing a dedication to learning and observation. Ratna said Alia didn’t worry about trying to be playful or charming for attention, which impressed her deeply.

“Many young actresses seem to feel the need to be the cute entertainer on set all the time,” Ratna said. “They think it will help them, but in many cases, it just makes them bad performers. Not Alia.” She said Bhatt’s quiet, attentive nature stood out because it reflected professionalism over performance for its own sake.

Ratna and Alia worked on the 2016 family drama Kapoor and Sons, though they did not share scenes together. Still, Ratna’s impressions of Bhatt from that shoot reflect her belief that success in acting comes from discipline and observation rather than distractions.
