After the massive success of Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh is gearing up for what could be the biggest standalone project of his career — the high-concept zombie thriller Pralay. According to a report in Pinkvilla, the film is being mounted on a reported budget of around ₹300 crore, making it more expensive than many of Singh’s previous solo ventures and positioning it as one of the costliest single-film investments of his career so far.

While Dhurandhar was widely reported to have been made on a budget in the region of ₹250–280 crore, the zombie drama’s ₹300 crore tag reflects a clear escalation in scale and ambition. Unlike Dhurandhar, which was released in two parts and spread its production costs across both, Pralay represents a one-film, high-stakes gamble on a genre that Bollywood has rarely explored at this level.

Set against a dystopian, zombie-infested version of Mumbai and directed by Jai Mehta (son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta), Pralay will reportedly blend intense action set pieces with emotional storytelling. Kalyani Priyadarshan has been confirmed as the female lead, marking a significant Bollywood opportunity for the actor.

Industry insiders say the large budget reflects both VFX demands and Singh’s creative involvement, including backend profit-sharing and hands-on participation from the scripting stage to final production. Shooting is expected to begin mid-2026, and the film’s scale has already set strong expectations among fans and trade observers alike.
