Rajpal Yadav Faces Fresh Legal Trouble:
Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has faced fresh legal difficulties after the Delhi High Court on Wednesday refused to grant him any further extension to surrender in connection with his conviction in multiple cheque bounce cases. The bench of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma rejected the actor’s plea for more time, directing him to surrender before the jail authorities by February 4, 2026.

Yadav’s counsel had argued that the actor had arranged ₹50 lakh towards the outstanding payments and sought an additional week to complete the transaction, but the court dismissed this request. “There is no ground to grant him further relief,” the judge noted, observing that Yadav had previously been granted time extensions but repeatedly failed to comply with undertakings given to the court.

The legal trouble stems from several cheque bounce complaints filed by M/s Murli Projects Pvt. Ltd., where Yadav and his wife were convicted under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. A trial court had sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment in May 2024, but this was later suspended by the High Court on condition of reaching an amicable settlement and completing payments to the complainant.
Despite multiple assurances and fixed payment schedules, including partial deposits of demand drafts, the Phir Hera Pheri actor allegedly failed to fulfil his financial obligations, with outstanding dues reportedly amounting to several crores of rupees.
With the latest refusal to extend his surrender deadline, the court has underlined that repeated non-compliance and breaches of undertakings will not be tolerated, marking a big move in this case.
