Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Coolie is already making waves even before its release, with overseas advance sales crossing the $5 million mark. In the United States alone, the film has surpassed the lifetime advance sales of Vijay’s Leo at $1.85 million and is now on track to break the $1.9 million record set by Kabali.

Industry analysts are predicting an opening day collection of $8–9 million from overseas markets alone, which would set a new record for an Indian film internationally.

Domestically, the film is also seeing massive pre-release hype, with early trade estimates suggesting a worldwide opening in the range of ₹130–140 crore, positioning it as one of the biggest openers in Kollywood cinema history.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is said to be a mass entertainer blending high-octane action with the director’s signature storytelling. Apart from Rajinikanth in the lead, the film features Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan in key roles.
