Businessman Raj Kundra, husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, is under investigation in a ₹60.4 crore cheating case linked to his former company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd. The case is being handled by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police.

According to a report by India Today, Kundra recently made a statement to investigators where he mentioned that part of the funds collected by the company had been used for promotional expenses. In his account, he claimed that around ₹20 crore was spent on promotions, celebrity endorsements, and broadcasting costs.

During questioning, Kundra named Bollywood actresses Bipasha Basu and Neha Dhupia as among those who were allegedly paid for promotional activities. He also submitted photographs to support his claims. However, it is important to note that these are still allegations, and there has been no independent verification of whether such payments were made or if the celebrities were aware of the larger financial irregularities being investigated.

The EOW is expected to review the documents and cross-check whether the promotional services claimed by Kundra were actually carried out and whether the payments align with the company’s records. Neither Bipasha Basu nor Neha Dhupia has issued a public statement so far regarding Kundra’s claims.

For now, the investigation continues, and the authorities have yet to confirm the extent of involvement of any celebrity figures named in the case.
