The Drishyam series, which began with the Hindi remake of Mohanlal’s Malayalam blockbuster, has become one of the most successful suspense thrillers in Indian cinema. The story follows Vijay Salgaonkar, played by Ajay Devgn, a common man who goes to great lengths to protect his family after an unexpected crime. Both Drishyam (2015) and Drishyam 2 (2022) were directed by Nishikant Kamat and Abhishek Pathak respectively, earning praise for their gripping storytelling and powerful performances.
The Hindi cast also featured Tabu as the tough cop Meera Deshmukh, Shriya Saran as Vijay’s wife, and Ishita Dutta as his daughter. Their compelling portrayals, combined with a tightly woven narrative, made both films box-office hits and audience favourites. Akshay Khanna played the cop in the previous film.
In the Malayalam version, Drishyam 3 is already in development with Mohanlal, and the Hindi version is expected to follow soon after. If Paresh Rawal joins the cast, his presence is sure to elevate the tension and drama further.
