Drishyam 3 Hindi Remake Announcement Halted:

The announcement of Drishyam 3’s Hindi remake, which was planned for October 2, 2025, has reportedly been put on hold due to a clause set by the makers of the original Malayalam franchise. According to sources quoted by Mid-Day, there is an agreement between Malayalam director Jeethu Joseph, producer Antony Perumbavoor, and Hindi producer Kumar Mangat. The clause states that the Hindi team cannot make any public announcement about their film’s content or release details without the approval of the original creators.

OG Malayalam Drishyam 3 to Release Before Hindi Remake, Confirms Director Jeethu Joseph; Will This Affect Ajay Devgn's Flick?

Work on the Malayalam version of Drishyam 3 has already begun, with superstar Mohanlal starting the shoot on September 22. In contrast, the Hindi remake starring Ajay Devgn and directed by Abhishek Pathak is expected to go on floors in December this year. Trouble reportedly began when the Hindi team suddenly announced that their film would release on October 2, 2026 — shortly after Mohanlal shared news of his shoot. This move did not sit well with Antony and Jeethu, leading them to enforce the clause and pause the Hindi team’s promotional activities.

Sources reveal that tensions have been simmering between both teams for some time. Initially, the plan was to release all three versions — Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu (starring Venkatesh) — on the same date, October 2, 2026, under Jeethu Joseph’s direction. However, Kumar Mangat wanted his son, Abhishek Pathak, to direct the Hindi version following the massive success of Drishyam 2 (2022). This creative difference reportedly caused a rift.

Now, with the Malayalam team moving ahead swiftly, Antony and Jeethu are reportedly planning to release their version before the Hindi one. Fans, meanwhile, eagerly await both versions to see how the next chapter of Georgekutty and Vijay Salgaonkar’s story unfolds. Which one are you waiting for the most?
