OMG! Padmavat To Have 300 Cuts!

The troubles never seem to end for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Padmavat which was earlier titled Padmavati. The film which stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor has been in the face of controversy. The film which was earlier slated to release on 1st December 2017 was deferred after facing opposition from fringe groups.

The CBFC has passed the film with the support of a special committee and given it a UA certificate asking Sanjay Leela Bhansali to make five modifications. And while this bit would have come as a sigh of relief to the makers, who knew that one of the points from the modification would result in 300 cuts.

A report in a leading daily suggests that all the references in the film to Mewar, Delhi and Chittorgarh will be cut. When the audience will watch this magnum opus on the 70 mm, it will be difficult for the viewers to know the land this bravery drama took place in. The whereabouts of Rani Padmavati or Alauddin Khilji will be unknown and that itself will be quite shocking for viewers.

As per the buzz, the makers are working around the clock to re-edit the film, to make sure that the film will finally see the light of the day on 25th January 2018. The film will clash with Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man.
