Actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has been active in Bollywood for over a decade now. Throughout these years, she has likely faced many struggles, arguments, and challenges. She recently discussed sexism in the Bollywood industry and shared that she doesn't have any choice but to accept it.

"I don't have a choice but to accept it. That is the new oppression. To raise a voice against old practices, there are agitations and movements. But I can't even voice my opinion on these issues," she said during an interview with HT.

She further explained, "If I am being told, 'you can't ask this question,' or 'we don't have an answer to that,' or 'this is not your place,' most of the time, due to the nature of the work, I honestly have to remain silent. It's not about being troublesome or problematic. I have to pretend I'm okay with this to coexist in your world. It's a task."

Drawing parallels between the real world and the reel world, the Dream Girl actress said, "I can't even address the big issues because they are very prominent and underlined. The ones that bother me are the ones we normalize. We have made it okay to say things to a woman or to treat a girl that way. We have made it acceptable to tell a girl, 'you won't get it' or 'your opinion doesn't matter.' I don't just blame the individuals who say that, but for every five who voice it, there are 500 who agree. For me, the everyday problems, the casual sexism, is what troubles me."
