AR Murugadoss points out Salman Khan delaying schedules for Sikandar:

Director AR Murugadoss, who helmed Salman Khan’s Eid 2025 release Sikandar, has spoken about the challenges he faced while shooting with the superstar. The film, which failed at the box office amid massive pre-release expectations, has left many wondering what went wrong. Here's an insight through AR's lenses.

Murugadoss, in a candid interview with Ranganathan, pointed out Salman’s unusual work timings as one of the biggest hurdles during production. “It’s not easy to shoot with a star,” he admitted. “Even day scenes, we have to shoot at night because he turns up to sets only by 8 PM. We are people who are used to shooting right from early mornings, but that’s not how things work there.”

The director also revealed how this routine took a toll on child actors in the movie. “If there were four kids in a scene, we would have to shoot with them at 2 AM, even if it’s the shot of them returning from school. They would become tired by that time and usually dozed off,” he shared.

Although Salman’s screen presence and charisma were never in question, the film’s execution and inconsistent production pace seem to have played a part in its poor reception. Sikandar was expected to be a grand action entertainer, but after a weak opening and rapid decline in collections, it ended up being another flop for Salman Khan. Next, Khan will be seen in Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia.
