Nani disagrees with Salman Khan:

During the trailer launch event of Chiranjeevi's Godfather, Salman Khan stated that South audiences don't watch Bollywood films in the same way our Hindi audiences watch theirs. He was correct when he said that, because when you look at the numbers, South films have made significant business in Hindi, but Hindi movies haven't achieved that level of success in the South.

Disagreeing with Khan's statement, Dasara star Nani mentioned that they have watched many movies of Salman Khan. He also emphasized that films like Hum Aapke Hain Koun have a cultural impact in the South while speaking to DNA.

"Who said that his films didn't work in the South? Did he become a superstar without successful movies? We all love him. We have watched many films of Salman Khan. Movies like Hum Aapke Hain Koun have cultural significance there. Didi Tera Deewana and other songs, we used to play at our weddings."

Earlier, during the promotions of Sikandar, Salman had shared, "When my film is released there, it doesn’t get the numbers because their fan following is very strong. I walk down the street, and they’ll say, ‘Bhai, Bhai’, but they won’t go to the theaters. The way we’ve embraced them here hasn’t happened there. Their films perform well because we go watch them — like those of Rajinikanth sir, Chiranjeevi garu, Suriya, or Ram Charan. But their fans don’t go to see our films."
