While 2020 has turned out to be a dark, forgettable year for the Hindi film industry because of Covid-19, which became an obstacle to theater release of Bollywood films, but there is an ample hope from 2021. Hoping that in the coming year we will get to witness a large number of films, that might find their way to theatre release for all the movie lovers. Sooryavanshi
Part of Rohit Shetty's cop universe, Sooryavanshi was expected to release on 27th March 2020. The premiere of the big budget, action film, which stars an ensemble cast of Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn, was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now Industry analysts speculate the film could open in theatres in the first quarter of 2021.83
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s first film together after their dreamy 2018 wedding, 83, is a sports drama directed by Kabir Khan. It is based on India’s historical 1983 World Cup win. 83 was initially slated to release in April this year. However, the release was deferred. The much-anticipated movie was scheduled to release in December 2020 but the pandemic forced a postponement. After Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, this is Ayan Mukherji's first project after 7 years. Actor Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is another highly anticipated release for 2021. Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on a chapter from S Hussain Zaidi’s book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai. She was a madam of a brothel in Kamathipura. Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan play the leading roles in Laal Singh Chaddha. The film is the official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump. Finally, all the Shahid Kapoor fans can finally sigh in relief. Directed by Gowtam Tinnamuri, Jersey is a Telugu-remake that will release in 2021. Slated to release in 2021, the movie is directed by Anand L Rai and stars Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, and Dhanush.
