Mastiii 4 has taken a disappointing start at the box office, becoming the lowest opener in the entire Masti franchise in more than two decades. The film collected around Rs.2.40–2.50 crore nett on its opening day, which is far below what a sequel in an established series was expected to earn. Despite the popularity of its leading trio — Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani, and Vivek Oberoi — the adult comedy failed to pull audiences into theatres.

The opening numbers for Milap Zaveri's directorial look even weaker when compared with previous films in the franchise. The first film Masti (2004) made Rs. 1.80 crore, but that was 21 years ago, when ticket prices were only a fraction of what they are today. Grand Masti (2013) became a huge hit with a massive Rs. 12.19 crore opening. Even Great Grand Masti (2016), which underperformed overall, managed a better start with Rs. 2.54 crore. With this context, Mastiii 4 falling to Rs. 2.40 crore makes it the lowest opening day for the franchise since the original film.

In terms of footfalls, the situation appears worse. The film sold only about 1.5 lakh tickets on day one, the lowest for any Masti film. This indicates that the audience interest has significantly dropped, even with the addition of new faces like Ruhi Singh, Shreya Sharma, and Elnaaz Norouzi in the cast.

The poor start puts Mastiii 4 in a difficult spot. Unless the film shows major growth over the weekend, it risks becoming one of the weakest performers in the franchise. For now, the opening day figures clearly signal an underwhelming response despite the brand value associated with the Masti series.
