Controversial social media personality Kamaal Rashid Khan, also known as KRK, was detained and later arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with a firing incident in the city’s western suburbs. The development took place in late January 2026, after weeks of police investigation into shots fired at a residential building in the Oshiwara-Andheri area of Mumbai.

According to police, the incident occurred on January 18, when two to four rounds were fired at the Nalanda Society residential complex. Bullets were later recovered from the second and fourth floors of the building. No injuries were reported, but the incident alarmed local residents. 

After initial examination of CCTV footage proved inconclusive, police brought in forensic experts to trace the trajectory of the shots. Investigators concluded that the bullets likely originated from the vicinity of KRK’s residence, leading them to question the actor.

During questioning, KRK admitted to firing the shots from his licensed firearm, according to the police. He told officers that he was merely testing the gun’s functionality after cleaning it and did not intend to harm anyone. The weapon was seized by authorities as part of the investigation.

KRK was taken into custody by the Oshiwara police, and formal charges have been filed under relevant sections of the law. Legal proceedings are ongoing as the police continue their probe into the case. Many know KRK for his controversial and degrading comments on Bollywood stars, movies and filmmakers.
