Kannappa, the much-talked-about mythological action film starring Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, and Vishnu Manchu, has turned out to be a major disaster in the Hindi market. Despite star power and heavy promotion, the film has failed to attract audiences in the Hindi-speaking regions, with its weekend collections staying well below expectations.

The film opened to a poor ₹60 lakh nett on Friday, followed by ₹80 lakh nett on Saturday. Sunday brought in ₹1 crore nett, taking the total weekend collection in Hindi to just ₹2.40 crore nett (approx). These numbers are shockingly low, especially for a film that featured big names like Akshay Kumar and Prabhas, both of whom enjoy a good fan base in North India.

Friday – ₹60 lakh nett

Saturday – ₹80 lakh nett

Sunday – ₹1 crore nett

Total – ₹2.40 crore nett approx.

Even with aggressive promotions in the Hindi belt, including appearances by Akshay Kumar and Vishnu Manchu, the film failed to create buzz or pull audiences to the theatres. With such low opening numbers, it is unlikely that Kannappa will reach even ₹5 crore nett in its lifetime run in Hindi.

The film now stands as one of the biggest Pan-India failures in recent times, at least in the Hindi market. A disappointing result for a project with such high expectations and star value.
