Haasan played the antagonist Yaskin in Kalki 2898 AD, but his screen time was limited as the story mainly set up his character’s rise. However, sources now suggest that the sequel, Kalki 2, will feature him in a full-fledged role, bringing out a more powerful and menacing side of Yaskin. The character, who gained immense power in the climax of the first film, will now be ready to take on both Bhairava/Karna (Prabhas) and Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) in the upcoming chapter.

Insiders hint that Kalki 2 will present Yaskin as more dangerous and deadly than before, setting the stage for an intense face-off with the two heroes and, eventually, the divine avatar of Lord Kalki.

Production for the sequel is expected to begin in 2026, with the makers targeting a grand theatrical release in either 2027 or 2028, depending on the time required for its massive VFX work.
