Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5 was released yesterday nationwide and abroad. The film is running on 5,000 screens across India and has collected a decent total of ₹22 crore nett on the opening day. This makes it the 16th biggest opener ever on the list of franchise/sequel movies.

The previous film in the Housefull franchise, Housefull 4, was released before Diwali in 2019 and had done a business of ₹17.5 crore nett. Housefull 5 has surpassed the opening numbers of its predecessor, but not footfalls.
