Hollywood Hits 2025

Hollywood beats Bollywood in 2025:

In not so surprising shift in 2025, Hollywood has managed to outnumber Bollywood in terms of box office hits at the Indian box office. With Indian audiences increasingly drawn to global content, Hollywood has already delivered four clean hits this year — Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning (Hit), Final Destination Bloodlines (Hit), F1 The Movie (Super Hit), and Jurassic World Rebirth (Hit). All four films not only performed well globally but also resonated strongly with Indian audiences, dominating both multiplexes and urban centers. All these films managed to beat Bollywood movies that released in the same week or the next week.

Chhaava

On the other hand, Bollywood has seen 3 Hits–one less than Hollywood. Only Chhaava, Raid 2, and Sitaare Zameen Par (SZP) have made a mark at the box office so far. Chhaava managed to set the nationwide box office on fire, whereas Raid 2 and SZP are just Hits. The gap between Chhaava and the second biggest hit of the year is too big.

Superman

The situation could tilt even further. If the newly released Superman film sustains its momentum, it may join the Hollywood hit list, taking the count to five — further widening the gap.

Final Destination Bloodlines

The trend reflects a changing mindset among Indian moviegoers, who are now leaning towards high-concept, VFX-heavy spectacles and globally relatable narratives. While Bollywood remains deeply rooted in emotion and cultural context, its storytelling formats may need a refresh to compete with the scale and ambition of Hollywood offerings.

F1 The Movie Review

On the positive side, Bollywood may outnumber Hollywood by the end of the year as we have some promising films lined up in the second half of the year. Meanwhile, Hollywood is highly dependent on Avatar 3–coming on Christmas 2025. Bollywood has War 2 that can score big like Chhaava while other promising movies can turn out to be hits, if not Blockbusters.
