According to the producer, Baburao is a registered trademark owned by the Nadiadwala family. The notice accuses Netflix and the show’s team of copyright infringement under Section 51 of the Copyright Act, 1957, as well as trademark infringement under Section 29 of the Trademarks Act. It also highlights violations of Section 14 of the Copyright Act, which protects the exclusive rights of a copyright owner, including the right to publicly communicate a work and to use it in films.
