Twenty-three-year-old Haryanvi model Sheetal (also known as Simmi Chaudhary), who lived in Panipat and appeared in regional music albums, was brutally murdered. Her throat was slit by unidentified assailants, and her body was found dumped in the Reliance Canal near Khanda village in Sonipat district on Monday, June 16, 2025. Sheetal had been reported missing after she went to the village of Ahar on June 14 for a music video shoot and failed to return home. Her sister Neha filed a missing person report at Matlauda Police Station in Panipat.

Police from Sonipat and Panipat recovered her body late Sunday night and sent it for a post-mortem at the civil hospital. Early investigations suggest the motive may be a personal dispute or old enmity, but all leads are currently being explored.
