Gustaakh Ishq Opening Weekend Box Office:
Manish Malhotra’s much-talked-about production debut, Gustaakh Ishq, has unfortunately witnessed a disappointing start at the box office. Despite featuring talented actors like Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, along with decent budget and scale, the romantic drama failed to attract enough audience interest over its opening weekend.
120 Bahadur Box Office Update: Another Flop For Farhan Akhtar –
The film started off slow on Friday, collecting only ₹50 lakhs nett. Instead of showing growth, as most films do on Saturday, the numbers took a dip. Saturday brought in ₹45 lakhs nett, clearly indicating a lack of momentum and word-of-mouth support. The trend continued into Sunday, with collections shrinking further to ₹40 lakhs nett. With this steady decline across all three days, the opening weekend total stands at just ₹1.35 crore nett approx.

These numbers are extremely low for a film led by recognizable stars and backed by a prominent name making his big shift into film production. Gustaakh Ishq was expected to give Manish Malhotra a strong cinematic start, but the performance has turned it into a huge commercial failure right from the opening frame.
Trade experts believe that the lack of strong promotion, weak audience connect, and a flat storyline may have contributed to the poor turnout. As crowds continue to stay away, the film now heavily depends on weekday hold, which also seems unlikely given its current trend.
With such low collections, Gustaakh Ishq is on track to be labeled a complete flop, unless a miracle turnaround arrives—which, as of now, doesn’t seem to be happening.

In our review of Gustaakh Ishq, we shared:
The days of Mirza Ghalib, Barsaat Ki Raat, Mughal-E-Azam and Pakeezah—the era of lyrical romance and soul-stirring poetry—are long gone. We no longer witness those spellbinding dialogues filled with metaphor and timeless grace. Several filmmakers have tried to revive that charm, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but even he hasn’t fully recaptured the lost glory. Now, Vibhu Puri, once an AD under SLB, attempts to rekindle that poetic flame through Gustaakh Ishq. The fire does ignite initially with its visual and thematic appeal, but the film soon reveals itself as a hollow experience—an empty soul pretending to be profound. It almost becomes a good film, but ultimately collapses into a senseless and disappointing climax.
