F1 The Movie Indian Box Office Update:
Brad Pitt’s latest film F1 The Movie has made a good impact at the Indian box office, beating the weekend numbers of Bollywood release Maa, starring Kajol. Despite Maa releasing on more screens across the country, the Hollywood film managed to collect higher figures over the weekend.
While Maa earned ₹17 crore nett in its opening weekend, F1 The Movie collected an estimated ₹20.75 crore nett, making it the more successful film between the two. This is yet another example of a Hollywood film outperforming a domestic Bollywood release in India. The support in South India gives Hollywood movie edge over Bollywood movies, but F1 was more dependent on urban centres in prime cities in North.
F1 The Movie Review: A Breathtaking Racing Ballet
The film is based on Formula 1 racing and stars Brad Pitt in the lead role. Despite being a niche subject and not a franchise film, F1 The Movie has managed to impress Indian audiences, especially in metro cities. The film’s performance is strong considering the genre and limited appeal of racing in India. With positive word of mouth and Brad Pitt’s popularity, the film is likely to continue its good run through the week. On the other hand, Maa has received mixed reviews and will now rely on weekday collections to recover ground.
