Siddhant Chaturvedi & Mrunal Thakur’s Do Deewane Seher Mein has registered a disappointing opening weekend at the box office. Despite youthful content and the fresh pairing of Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur, the film failed to attract strong footfall in theatres.

The romantic drama opened to a modest ₹1.25 crore nett on Friday, which was already below expectations. Ideally, a film like this needed solid word-of-mouth to push collections over the weekend. However, the growth remained limited. On Saturday, the film showed only a slight jump, collecting ₹1.40 crore nett. Sunday, which is usually the strongest day, also did not bring much relief as the film earned ₹1.30 crore nett. The film was hit by India vs South Africa cricket match on Sunday.

With a total opening weekend collection of ₹3.95 crore nett, the film is clearly on the weaker side commercially. For a theatrical performer, especially one led by recognizable young stars, the numbers are underwhelming. Trade expectations were higher, particularly given the film’s urban appeal and music-driven promotions.

The real test now begins on weekdays. Without a strong hold from Monday onward, the film may struggle to sustain its theatrical run. Unless word-of-mouth improves significantly in the coming days, the road ahead looks challenging.

The film is likely to end its theatrical run with a single digit lifetime total. At this point, the film will need a miraculous turnaround to gain momentum at the box office. Otherwise, Do Deewane Seher Mein risks ending its theatrical journey sooner than expected.
