Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has sparked fresh controversy after strongly criticizing the trailer of the upcoming film The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond. His remarks have ignited a heated debate across the film industry and on social media.

During a recent media interaction in Kochi, Kashyap did not hold back. He called the film “propaganda” and questioned the intent behind its storytelling. Reacting to a controversial scene shown in the trailer, the filmmaker said the movie appears designed to create division rather than present a meaningful narrative.

Kashyap also took a direct swipe at producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah, alleging that the project is driven more by commercial motives than creative honesty. He claimed the makers “just want to make money” and accused them of trying to please audiences while dividing people.  His blunt comments quickly went viral online.

The sequel, directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, is already surrounded by controversy similar to the first film. The trailer has received mixed reactions, with some viewers supporting the film’s theme while others have raised concerns about its portrayal of sensitive issues. 

Meanwhile, the makers have defended the film and maintained that it is inspired by real incidents. Despite the backlash, The Kerala Story 2 is scheduled for theatrical release soon..
