Advance bookings for Ranveer Singh’s upcoming spy thriller Dhurandhar have seen a modest jump, with over 51,000 tickets sold across major national chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. While this is an improvement from earlier, the numbers remain fairly average for a big-budget, star-studded film. Industry experts note that the film is lagging significantly behind other major Hindi releases this year.

For comparison, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, currently the biggest Hindi opener of the year, had already sold more than 80,000 tickets by this stage. Clearly, Dhurandhar is far behind these benchmark films, which raises concerns about its potential opening day collections.

Earlier, many trade analysts had predicted a massive ₹40 crore opening for Dhurandhar when its teaser and trailer were released. However, current booking trends suggest that even a ₹20 crore opening might be challenging. The spy thriller needs strong momentum in the next two days to attract larger audiences, especially considering its high budget and ensemble cast.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar features Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and several others. The film is slated for a theatrical release on December 5, 2025. With stiff competition and average advance booking numbers, the next 48 hours will be crucial in determining if the film can turn the tide and deliver a strong start at the box office.
